About Allendale, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Allendale, Illinois is a small village with about 475 residents. It is located within the Wabash Precinct of Wabash County. This community was founded in 1869 and was named for railroad official Colonel C.M. Allen. In 1989, an F4 tornado leveled much of the town and injured many residents. Relief funds were used to build a new elementary and middle school later that year.
With fewer than 500 residents in the community, Allendale isn’t home to many major attractions. A CJ’s Fast Shop Gas Station is located here, as is a branch of First National Bank, Ruritan Hall, and a fire station. Fortunately, Mount Carmel is just a short drive away, as there are many other businesses and things to do there. Golf fans might like to book a tee time at Mt Carmael Golf Course, while specialty shops like Attic, Your Flower Shop & Greenhouse and Smith Jewelers are great destinations to pick up a gift. Nearby Vincennes, Indiana is also home to some great restaurants, such as Pea-Fections Culinary Connections, Old Thyme Diner, and El Corral Mexican Restaurant.
Allendale experiences four different seasons during the course of a year, so residents need to have both home heating and cooling systems available. During the summer, conditions are hot and quite muggy, and there are several days where temperatures exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit. A reliable and energy efficient central air conditioner will keep residents comfortable, and they can also improve indoor air quality for people who suffer from allergies.
Winters in Allendale tend to be cold, with average daily highs reaching around 40 degrees in January. Snowfall is lower than other parts of the U.S., but freezing temperatures – especially overnight – can make conditions dangerous. A heat pump or furnace can keep interiors comfortable and safe, but they should be serviced regularly to ensure they are working at optimal efficiency.
