About Grayville, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Grayville, Illinois is a city found in portions of White and Edwards counties. It is the birthplace of James Meredith Helm, a famous naval hero during the Spanish-American War. About 1,650 people resided here in 2013, down from over 1,725 residents in 2000. Grayville was constructed along the Wabash River, but after the river changed course due to a flood in 1985, the community is now seated two miles from the channel. Grayville is a short drive from major metro areas in the region, and Illinois Route 130 connects with Illinois Route 1 in this small city.
While there aren’t any major attractions located in Grayville, there are some notable businesses that both visitors and residents can enjoy. There are specialty shops available to pick up a unique gift, including Whyte House of Flowers, Bernie’s Nifty Tees, and Atmosphere Movies & Tanning. There are also several great restaurants to grab breakfast or dinner, such as Mandy’s Chappy’s Bar & Grill, and Roosevelt’s Pizza.
Whether you are passing through Grayville, live here, or want to relocate to the area, you should be prepared for anything in terms of the weather. During the winter, cold temperatures with occasional snowfall are common. Freezing conditions can make conditions dangerous both on the road and when at home, especially if you don’t have the right climate controls in place. An energy efficient furnace –gas, oil, or electric – is a necessity to make it through the season safely.
After the harsh winter months, Grayville area summers feature very different weather patterns. High temperatures reach the upper-80s or even higher. The region is extremely humid, and these muggy conditions can make it feel even hotter. Most residents choose to invest in a central air conditioner to stay comfortable during this season. Regularly service form an HVAC technician can also ensure that these systems work at optimal efficiency throughout the year.
